Office 2024 Standard

Office 2024 LTSC Standard for Windows is the volume-license edition of Office for companies, with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote on one PC.

Office 2024 Standard gives organizations the core Office apps in a version that stays the same for years. As an LTSC edition (Long Term Service Channel), the apps receive security updates but no feature changes, so your tested setup with templates, VBA macros and add-ins stays stable. Commercial use is permitted.

Who is this edition for?

• Companies and public authorities that need a fixed Office version without feature updates, for example in regulated or restricted environments.
• IT departments that deploy Office centrally with Microsoft's free Office Deployment Tool and keep their existing Group Policy settings.
• Offices that work with templates, VBA macros and add-ins in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook every day.

The apps at a glance

• Word 2024: letters, reports and contracts. If Word closes unexpectedly before you save, it reopens the documents you had open.
• Excel 2024: calculations and analyses with new text and array functions such as TEXTSPLIT and VSTACK, the IMAGE function and charts that grow with dynamic arrays.
• PowerPoint 2024: presentations with cameo for your live camera image, Recording Studio for video recordings and closed captions for video and audio.
• Outlook 2024: email, calendar and contacts with improved search that suggests relevant messages, attachments and appointments as you type, and meetings that can be shortened automatically.
• OneNote: the OneNote desktop app for your notes; ink from your Surface pen appears instantly, and the Draw tab offers more colors and sizes.

What's new in Office 2024 Standard?

The apps use the new default Office theme based on Fluent Design. Improved accessibility tools help you make documents, workbooks, presentations and emails accessible. You can insert photos from an Android phone directly into Word, Excel and PowerPoint, which now save ODF files in OpenDocument Format 1.4 by default. ActiveX controls are now disabled by default; administrators can re-enable them where needed.

Buy once, use permanently

Office 2024 Standard is a one-time purchase without monthly or yearly fees, and after activation it also works offline. Office LTSC 2024 follows Microsoft's Fixed Lifecycle Policy: five years of mainstream support with security updates until October 9, 2029, with no extended support. New features, cloud storage and Copilot are not included; they come only with Microsoft 365. It runs on Windows 11, supported Windows 10 versions and Windows Server 2022 or 2025.

Standard or Professional Plus?

Standard contains the Office apps most companies use every day. If you also need Access for databases, choose Office 2024 Professional Plus for Windows. Working on a Mac? Then take Office 2024 Standard for Mac. Publisher is no longer part of Office 2024.
